How to Snooze eufy Camera Notifications
Yes—eufy’s Snooze control can pause alerts for a selected period while the device continues recording events. In the eufy app, open the Devices tab, tap the bell on the camera card, choose a duration, and save. The bell turns blue while Snooze is active. Durations depend on the device; turn Snooze off from that bell when you want alerts back sooner.
Choose the control that matches the problem
Snooze is the temporary “quiet phone, keep the camera working” choice. It is different from turning off motion detection or changing a security mode. A silent phone alone does not tell you whether the camera is still capturing events, so use the distinction below before changing a setting.
| Control | What it changes | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Snooze | Suppresses eufy app alerts for a temporary, selected period; eufy says events can still be recorded. | You need a quiet interval but still want event clips. |
| Motion Detection off | Stops motion detection for that camera; this is not just a phone-alert pause. | You intentionally want motion sensing disabled and accept that events may not be captured. |
| Disarmed mode | Changes the active security mode and its recording/notification actions. | You want the system to follow a different armed-state plan, not a quick notification break. |
| Phone notification settings | Changes delivery on that phone and may affect alerts from more than one eufy device. | You need to manage phone-wide banners, sounds, or permissions. |
Set a temporary quiet period
- Open the eufy app’s Devices tab and locate the specific camera. Snooze is selected per device, so do not assume one camera’s setting applies to every device.
- Tap the bell icon on its device card. Select the offered duration and, where shown, the snooze type. Doorbells may offer separate Motion Snooze and Chime Snooze or HomeBase Snooze options; those labels control different alerts.
- Tap Save. Confirm the bell is blue. The available lengths differ: eufy lists shorter options for indoor cameras and longer options for many eufyCams and doorbells, but the exact menu depends on the model.
- To restore alerts early, tap the same bell, switch Snooze off, and confirm the prompt. Check that the icon is no longer blue.
Use the duration shown in your own app rather than relying on a duration from another camera model. For example, eufy’s support table lists indoor camera intervals starting at 15 minutes, while eufyCam intervals start at 30 minutes; supported doorbell snooze types also vary.
Verify that quiet does not mean blind
After enabling Snooze, make one safe, ordinary movement test in the camera’s view. Then check the Events list for a new clip and confirm the phone did not show the usual eufy alert. This checks two separate outcomes: recording remained active, and notifications were suppressed. Do not treat a missing notification by itself as proof the camera recorded.
Quick check record
| Check | Record |
|---|---|
| Camera/model and test time | ____________________________ |
| Snooze type and end time shown | ____________________________ |
| New event visible in Events? | Yes / No |
| Phone alert suppressed? | Yes / No |
| Bell blue after saving? | Yes / No |
If the clip is absent, investigate recording mode or motion detection separately. If the clip exists but an alert still appears, confirm Snooze is active on that exact device and check whether the alert came from a different camera or doorbell function.
If Snooze will not turn on
eufy lists several conditions that can prevent setup: the camera is off, the selected security mode is Disarmed, Motion Detection is disabled, or the phone has a poor Wi-Fi connection. Check those conditions and retry. Do not switch the whole system to an armed mode merely to silence alerts; choose Snooze when the goal is only a temporary pause.
When the quiet period ends, confirm the bell status and make sure the camera’s normal security mode and notification actions are still the ones you intended. If timing matters, note the displayed Snooze end time because the offered durations are model-specific.
